Petroleum Engineering Program—Related Opportunities

The University of Houston is in the heart of the global center for upstream oil and gas industry. This explains why experienced adjunct faculty members provide most of the instruction and why there are always students desiring the Petroleum Engineering Master’s Degree.

Many full time professionals enroll in the Petroleum Engineering program as part-time students. The courses are offered in the evenings to enable attendance after working hours.

Although most students taking petroleum engineering courses are pursuing the Master's Degree, the courses can also be taken for continuing education credit, and can be applied as Professional Development Hours (PDH’s) for maintaining professional competency for the Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
